NFL Challenge: Game On

It's time to start making your selections in the 7th annual alumnac.com NFL Challenge. Last year (in the 6th annual), David Healey (Ishpeming 1967) was crowned the champion.

The 2009 NFL season begins on Thursday, September 9th. To give yourself the best chance of winning, please submit your week 1 selections prior to this game. Like last year, selections can be made and changed up until kickoff of each game - this means you can make changes to your late picks on Sunday while the early games are being played.

To make your picks, please click on the NFL link in your newsletter (this does not require you to remember your user ID or password) or access the NFL challenge page and click on 'Enter Contest' link. You will be propmted for your user ID and password. After you enter the contest, you will be receive an acknowledgement email with a link to edit your picks. This link may be used to enter the contest for the entire season, so it's a good idea to save one of these emails.

The entry with the most correct picks each week wins the contest for that week. Ties are broken by (in order): 1) entry with the closest pick to the total points scored in the tie-breaker game, 2) highest cumulative correct picks for the season, 3) coin flip. This year's sponsor is Congress Pizza in Ishpeming. Each week's winner will receive a free pizza from Congress Pizza.

Good luck to everyone!

Our newest sponsor - Fox Negaunee

Thanks to Fox Negaunee for their support of alumnac.com. Please consider them the next time you are in the market for a new or used automobile or need your vehicle serviced.
No UP Challenge This Year

Because of my own time challenges this summer, I was unable to get the UP football schedules loaded in time for this year's season. The schedules and results will get loaded, but not in time for the beginning of the season. So, we will be unable to do a UP football challenge this year. Maybe next year ...

To post pictures, you will need your user name and password. If you don't know yours, click here.

alumnac.com Partners with the Ishpeming High School Alumni Association

alumnac.com has partnered with the Ishpeming High School Alumni Association to help with the distribution of Beacon Light, the alumni newsletter. alumnac.com is helping in two ways. First, alumnac.com will collect additional contact information to reduce the administrative workload on the Alumni Association staff. Second, alumnac.com has begun to post copies of Beacon Light. Alumni may now elect to receive the newsletter by email only by noting this on their personal information page. This saves cost for the Alumni Association and enables them to focus more on other valuable activities.

To enable electronic delivery only, please click on the update link on your alumnac.com email and then check the Beacon Light box.
